Artist Statement

My artwork focuses on the environmental concerns and looks into the relationship between man and nature. The natural world is being threatened by the impact of humans. My work aims to create an emotional impact on the viewer, showing the magnificence of our natural world as well as highlighting the awareness of the environmental issues.

The message I portray through my work is based on the fact that our planet is under a serious threat due to over-population, pollution, burning fossil fuels, and deforestation. I believe we as artists have the ability to use our art to communicate important messages and to inspire people to act and think.

My work process begins by note-taking, researching into effected areas, looking at maps and endangered animals. Through the use of painting, I am able to produce vivid and rich pieces of work that displays a meaning whilst emphasizing the beauty of nature. This has led me to explore different mediums such as digital art which has allowed me to draw more freely, creating complex and detailed works. Art has enabled me to share my thoughts and feelings towards an audience for the need to care for our environment.
